Plastic doll with articulated arms at the shoulders, not at the elbow, articulated legs at the hips and knees, soft pivoting head with implanted hair, felt and plastic outfit, the sabre does not remove from the scabbard (one piece moulded) - See pictures for more details.
The elite gendarmerie legion was specifically responsible for maintaining public safety and policing the areas where the government resided.
Although created in 1801, it only became part of the consuls' guard in 1803. This corps remained attached to the Imperial Guard until the end of the Empire.
The role of the elite gendarmerie was to keep constant watch over the head of state during his travels and in the armies.
